This forged pure iron arrowhead pendant is inspired by archaeological Norse/Viking hunting arrow heads. The tang has been transformed into a decorative bail to convert the arrowhead into a small pendant.
The edges are blunt for comfortable wear, and the surface has been protected by a black oxide layer and waxed. A traditional method to preserve the iron against the elements.
The pendant comes on a leather cord with adjustable knots. You can choose the cord color and material.
I offer no questions asked returns if you're not satisfied, and our metal work is guaranteed as long as we're in business. The leather is guaranteed for a year, and we offer a re-blackening service for the cost of shipping.

The Story behind this pendant
Each arrowhead starts out as a single piece of pure iron. The end of this piece is individually hand forged into the shape of a small hunting arrowhead. For fully functional arrowhead I would use a steel as the material, this one is iron and better suited for a pendant. The arrowhead is hot cut of the bar and the tang is forged out and straightened. The shape is refined on a grinder, which is also where a fully functional arrowhead would be sharpened. To make the arrowhead into a pendant the tang is formed into a bail. I based the bail design on bronze age fibula brooches.
To end the process each arrowhead has been quenched in tallow, a process that would harden the arrowhead where it made out of steel. This makes the arrowhead black and at the same time protects it from the elements.
This type of tanged arrowhead is of a type was in use Northern Europe before the 11th century, by amongst others, the Vikings. Its main function was as a hunting arrow, but as with any Viking age tools, the arrowheads would have been also used in warfare, should the need arise.
